Baule figure from Ivory Coast, the male standing on short, muscular legs, hands held in front, also with raised navel, scarifications markings on upper arms, back, neck, and face. Facial features include semi-circular, heavy-lidded eyes, small, grooved mouth, a slender, triangular nose, and finely incised coiffure with ponytails in back.
Height: 13 inches
Damage and losses to integral base and feet, age splits down the front (neck to pubis) and on one side of the head, as well as other surface imperfections.
